Equinox exists to provide support, care and recovery to people who are challenged by exclusion, marginalisation and a range of needs for special assistance such as mental health problems and substance misuse. Our own service users have coined the term “forgotten people” to describe the section of the population that we are providing support to, in their thousands, each year.

We operate across the South East of England, providing a range of different services that concentrate on assisting our service users to re-engage with the communities around them and to find effective strategies for dealing with the challenges facing them in their lives. These services include supported housing, outreach, street engagement and day services.

Equinox is active in the criminal justice system. We work on the basis that this is often the place to find people who are ready to engage with recovery, whatever form that may take for them.

We have worked with our service users to devise a programme of involvement that allows them to drive what we do on a day-to-day basis. This makes our services stronger and more responsive to the individual needs of the people that rely on them.

Personalisation@Equinox is our long term effort to transform our services and make them responsive to the needs, wishes and aspirations of individual service users. We believe that this step forward is essential in giving our service users the best chance of achieving self determination and we have committed ourselves to changing the way we do things, no matter how challenging that will be, to make personalisation a reality.

ISO 9001 certification

Equinox are also very proud of our ISO 9001 accreditation - an important internationl standard for the quality management of businesses. There are clear benefits of holding this standard for Equinox service users, staff and commissioners.

Equinox have successfully completed ISO 9001 certification.
Ian Olney, Head of Quality and Compliance at Equinox, said: “ISO 9001 accreditation means the Equinox have achieved an important international standard for the quality management of businesses. There are clear benefits for Equinox service users, staff and commissioners. Our systems and processes at Equinox have come under close scrutiny – we were required to demonstrate measurable quality objectives for the entire organisation, the framework to achieve those objectives and the means to measure our progress against them.”
