The Equinox team turned out on the streets of Southwark to cheer the Olympic torch on its way to the Games, just one day before it reached its destination in Stratford, where the torch passed through the hands of Sir Steve Redgrave and David Beckham to young athletes, who lit the Olympic cauldron.

The Equinox bunch couldn't miss the once in a life time opportunity to cheer the torch relay through our local streets, turning out for the sunny procession which made its way down Great Dover Street.

One of the ways Equinox service users have been celebrating the London Olympics is with their 2012 themed newsletter, dedicated to stories about what is going on during this time for people recovering from mental ill health and substance misuse, for people who have previously been homeless and people who still are homeless.

The Games are a time for the nation to come together, to notice one another, to celebrate together and get inspired. So for anyone wishing to use that energy and enthusiasm by volunteering at Equinox, we would warmly welcome you..

Here was the build up to the torch relay passing through Southwark...(how we watched, how we waited...!).
