The latest edition of the London Drug and Alcohol Network newsletter features a piece on Older People and Substance Misuse, in which Equinox Aspinden Wood are profiled (see page 5 to 6).

Equinox Aspinden Wood is a unique service in South East London, providing support and accommodation for people with chronic alcohol dependence. The service user group are predominantly older people; currently the youngest resident is 54 and the oldest resident is 88.

The focus at Equinox Aspinden Wood is on increasing the quality of life and minimising harm for the 26 residents, many of whom would otherwise be homeless and drinking alcohol to dangerous levels, without any support.
