Calling all service users, care managers, carers and GPs – in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Brent and Westminster. The Equinox Personal Care Service may be of interest to you.

Think of it as an extra pair of hands at home to aid your recovery and independent living – Equinox Recovery Assistants are available for home visits, 24 hours a day. They have specialist knowledge and training in areas including mental ill health, substance misuse and previous history of homelessness.

Service Manager, Gerdy Grafendorf, explains: “The Equinox Personal Care Service is about providing support to people in their own homes – when and how they need that support. Our service also offers some respite to carers. Wherever possible, our emphasis at Equinox is doing things with our service users rather than for them. And we don’t exclude people based on multiple needs – the Personal Care Service is for people with any combination of mental ill health, history of substance misuse or mild learning disabilities.

“We help with personal care, such as getting up and ready for the day, through to getting to bed. We help service users with shopping and preparing meals. We help with keeping the home clean, dealing with post or bills and taking medication. We support with family situations. And we are available now to help.”
