Thanks to Simon Hughes, MP for Southwark and Bermondsey, for visiting Equinox Aspinden Wood on 29th November - Equinox's care home for people with chronic alcohol dependence, located in South East London.

Chair of Equinox Care Board, Robert Foster, said: "We were delighted by the visit of Simon Hughes MP to Equinox Aspinden Wood. He was keen to talk to service users and went round one by one to all those who wanted to chat, recognising the family atmosphere."

Service Manager Jennipher Ndaula and Chief Executive Bill Puddicombe explained to Simon how the care home is run. Simon showed great interest, offering to come back and talk again to service users about any issues they wished to raise.

Robert added: "We also discussed how Simon might raise issues of concern for organisations such as Equinox Care at the political level. And we were all impressed when Simon mentioned that he would be sleeping on the streets that rather cold night in support of the homeless."

Thanks again to Simon for taking the time to visit us. Find out more about Equinox Aspinden Wood here.
