It was a day created from scratch by Equinox service users, family members and volunteers - a blank sheet of paper back in June became Equinox's Rocket to Recovery event on Wednesday 26th September. The day was put together for Equinox and Aquarius people. It was about having some fun, celebrating achievements and discussing the challenges of recovery from mental ill health, alcohol and drug dependence and homelessness.

The whole Equinox team would like to say a big thanks to Alastair Campbell and Arthur Smith for showing up for our day and making it really special. And also a massive thanks to our fabulous comperes for the day, Charmaine and Rob - for leading us in a day of recovery celebration.

Here are a few pics of Alastair and Arthur with our brilliant comperes and the Equinox crew - more event pics coming up next week! Thank you to photographer Phil Bourne for donating his time to the event to give us some memorable snaps...

"Ello, ello, ello - what 'ave we here then, eh?"

Alastair chats to Equinox Chief Executive Bill Puddicombe at the start of the day...

Meanwhile, Arthur goes in search of the toilet!

Alastair talks about his insights into keeping mentally fit...

Arthur takes the stage for a joke or three...

Alastair signs copies of his book, The Happy Depressive, with Equinox Greenwich and Equinox Southampton Way staff.

Equinox staff enjoy getting their snaps done with the big man!

Smiles all round!

Here are our star comperes, Rob and Charmaine - they did us proud...

They kept the day flowing between speakers and acts....

Rob gets the giggles...

Coming up next week, a close look at the creative talent on display at the Equinox Rocket to Recovery event - headed up by artist Lloyd Green and graffiti artist Alex McLelland - with contributions from Equinox and Aquarius service users. Watch this space!
