World Mental Health Day 2014 - Equinox "Nine Lives"

Posted by on 7 October 2014 | 1 Comments

To celebrate World Mental Health Day 2014, nine Equinox service users who have experienced mental ill health and recovery have contributed to an audiovisual piece called 'Nine Lives.'

'Nine Lives' is a 13 minute piece, blending audio recordings, portrait photography, moving images and motion graphics. The piece will be shown at City Hall on World Mental Health Day 2014 to an invited audience, with the event being opened by Deputy Mayor of London Victoria Borwick. The Nine Lives film will be introduced at this event by the Chair of Trustees for Equinox, Robert Branagh, along with John and Kathleen, two of the film's contributors.

The City Hall event for World Mental Health Day 2014 also features speakers from the Mental Health Foundation and SANE, as well as a Time to Change Conversation Cafe hosted by The Advocacy Project.

'Nine Lives' can be seen by the general public at Holborn Library from 3pm on 10th October through to 31st October, working in partnership with Camden Libraries. The address is 32-38 Theobalds Road, London WC1X 8PA.

Throughout October 2014, please tweet us @EquinoxUK with your experiences of mental ill health and recovery, including anyone who has experienced this themselves, as well as family, friends and carers.
