About The Service

This service co-ordinates and delivers custodial and community resettlement and supervision services for offenders across London as part of the wider Transforming Rehabilitation Programme. The offenders being supported have a wide range of resettlement needs and have varying and sometimes complex needs.

Penrose provide resettlement support to offender’s in custody and the community. The service is designed to deliver interventions and support to manage the community supervision orders of offenders released into the community that have received a prison sentence of less than 12 months. Support delivered is wide ranging and based on individual need. Our service supports the offender to adhere to and achieve the cohesive resettlement plan generated from the custodial resettlement team.


About The Role

As part of the MoJ’s Transforming Rehabilitation reforms, targeting around quality of work and timescales have become an integral part of work in the criminal justice sector. In order to sustain the important work we do with our clients and maintain the quality of service they deserve, as an organisation we consider meeting these targets critical.

Working as part of the Penrose Community team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the data from frontline staff is collated and analysed effectively, allowing for both internal and external targets to be measured, giving the senior management team an insight into the strengths and areas for improvement of their teams as well as the service as a whole.


Key Responsibilities

  • Adopt BIONIC (Believe It Or Not I Care) ethos.
  • Provide case related administrative support to Responsible Officers including the maintenance of case records and the termination of cases and the end of their supervision period.
  • Taking a lead on events taking place at the Hub and other locations across London, including training and employment fairs, and the management of any volunteers involved.
  • To use available client data to inform the planning of events and interventions in the hub or other locations.
  • Support Responsible Officers in obtaining relevant documents or information from local authorities, prisons etc. in order for them to risk assess and enforce compliance by their clients.
  • Collate and report weekly case management figures and performance information.
  • To be involved at each stage of case and service level information reporting, from data collection to reporting to management team.
  • To support Responsible Officers with any reasonable aspects of collection processes.
  • To input and extract information from computerised packages, client monitoring system, and other database systems, generating weekly performance statistics to be reported to Service Manager and Head of Community Services.
  • Any other general administrative tasks to be completed ad hoc as requested by the management team.
  • To positively respond to service users who may need assistance, seeking the support of the appropriate responsible officer if necessary.
  • Have some understanding to the needs of the client group and working in an accordingly professional and sensitive manner.
  • Ensure that at all times work is conducted within the policy and procedural framework established, ensuring full up to date knowledge and understanding of policies, procedures and legislation at all times.
  • To assist with delivery of post sentence supervision through contact with service users. When needed, providing a point of contact for service users to coordinate appointment attendance and information for their Responsible Officers.
